Just five weeks ago, an exciting bike sharing program was launched right here in Ohio City putting a new spin on getting around town! We now have a healthy, convenient and fun way to run errands, grab a bite to eat, go to a meeting, or just get some exercise.
The first of its kind in the U.S. to be fully funded exclusively by the private sector, this partnership between parent company, Zagster, and several local businesses and organizations has generated so much interest in the community that as of October 17, 2014, the program is already expanding from an initial 34 bikes at 6 locations in Ohio City to an additional 16 bikes in 3 other Cleveland neighborhoods. Local Sponsors of the program expect it to continue to expand rapidly connecting neighborhoods and stimulating commerce.
Bikes are available on-demand at nine locations for up to a 24-hour period. Pricing begins at $3 per hour with a cap at $24 for up to 24 hours. A $15 monthly or $75 annual fee includes unlimited rides under one hour, with additional hours being charged at $3 per hour to a maximum of $24. Bikes can be taken one way or round trip, but must be returned to a Zagster bike location.
Simply set up an account via the Zagster Mobile App, (available for iPhone and Android), or online. Renting is easy and user-friendly – think Redbox, only for bicycles.
