DIY: Easy Plants to Grow On Balcony’s

Living in an apartment doesn’t mean that you cannot be an avid part of the summer growing season.

There are many different varieties of fruits, vegetables, and herbs that can easily be grown in a small pot out on your balcony. If you have a green thumb, or want to find out if you do, here are some simple plants that you can take care of with ease.

Fruits That Like Containers
Some fruits do incredibly well in small containers. If you want a splash of fresh flavor, give some of these fruits a try.

  • Strawberries
  • Pineapple (talk about a conversation starter)
  • Bananas
  • Some varieties of small melons
  • Vegetables That Do Well in Small Spaces
Not all vegetables will do well on a balcony, as they spread out far too much. Pumpkins, for example, need far more space than a balcony would allow. Instead, try some of these veggies for a fresh addition to dinner:

  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumbers
  • Beans
  • Peas
  • Garlic
  • Herbs Are Ideal for Container Growing
If you like fresh herbs in your foods, then consider some of these herbs that take very little time and effort to grow, but reward you with amazing flavors and aromas.

  • Rosemary
  • Sage
  • Basil
  • Thyme
  • Mint
  • Give it a shot and enjoy your summer!
