We have an opportunity to participate in an extraordinary event this Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 6pm-8pm right here in our own neighborhood just five blocks away! Station Hope is a multi-arts event presented by Cleveland Public Theatre that celebrates the triumphs of the Underground Railroad and contemporary struggles for freedom and justice. The event will be staged at St. John’s Church which was the last stop for fleeing slaves seeking their freedom across Lake Erie, and was known as “Station Hope” on the Underground Railroad. The event will feature an array of short performances of dance, theatre, storytelling and music. Visual art displays and public arts activities will permeate the event and choral performance will set the atmosphere of the outdoor spaces in and around the church.
St. John’s Episcopal Church is located at 2600 Church Street in the Ohio City neighborhood of Cleveland. Click here for more information.
